Hi! I’m Ellie….
I’m Ellie Lucas, a yoga teacher, reiki practitioner, retreat facilitator and mental health therapist, yoga with a passion for integrating mind-body wellness. I was born and raised in Costa Rica, where my love for nature and connection began.
If you had told me years ago that one day I would be guiding others through yoga, energy work, and holistic practices, I probably wouldn’t have believed you and might have even laughed. I used to think Reiki was a little too “out there” and even yoga felt unfamiliar, something for other people, but my curiosity grew over time. I first stepped onto a mat not for spiritual transformation, but because a friend was teaching in New York and I took her class while visiting. I knew in that moment that something felt different: a sense of grounding, breath, and presence that I hadn’t experienced before. I knew that one day I’d need to find a place to try yoga again and 4 years later I made it on to the mat again.
My professional path began in the world of mental health. After earning my master’s in Social Work and becoming a licensed therapist, I started practicing traditional talk therapy, until I noticed it wasn’t always enough. I witnessed how approaches like EMDR and Brainspotting brought the body into the healing process in profound ways. At the same time, my personal yoga practice began shifting how I related to myself. I started tuning into my breath during hikes, sensing subtle changes in my energy, and feeling more attuned to the people around me.
Eventually, I followed this thread further and begun studying somatic practices, becoming a yoga teacher, and learning Reiki. What once felt too “woo-woo” became something I could feel in my body, trust, and now offer to others from a grounded place.
Interconnected Wellness is the result of that journey. It’s built on the belief that healing is layered, it’s about the whole person and deeply personal. I love creating spaces, whether through private sessions, workshops, or retreats, where people can reconnect to themselves and rediscover their inner resources, wisdom, and calm.
When I am not meeting with clients or teaching, you can find me hanging out with my dog, being outdoors, hiking trails, soaking up the magic of nature, or planning the next wellness retreat or workshop. I love creating spaces where people can rest, reconnect, and rediscover their own magic.
